ABOUT

Hi,

Thank you so much for checking out my about page.  I’m so glad you’re here.

I went vegetarian as a child, in 1992, when I saw footage of a downed cow being bulldozed alive onto a deadpile at a slaughterhouse.  It shattered me to see a sick animal in pain being so viciously abused by people.  I have always had a deep love for all animals, so I immediately stopped eating them.

It wasn’t until college that I learned of the horrors of the dairy industry, and when I did (you guessed it) I vowed to become vegan.  It was 2002 and I didn’t know a single vegan.  Vegan blogs, YouTube channels, and Instagrams weren’t a thing yet so I had to just figure it out all alone.  Once I did, I decided I wasn’t going to just sit-by while others struggled.

I’ve had the incredible honor of helping countless people, in my day-to-day life, transition to being vegan, which makes me feel very lucky!  They just sort of find me wherever I go.

In 2011, I started my blog as a way to reach more people to show how easy it really is to be vegan.  I focus on creating vegan travel guides for places like Walt Disney World and other popular travel locations.  I also like to share insider tips and advice — like how to make sure you’re using vegan cleaning products, vegan tips for weddings, and where to find the best vegan Easter candy.

When I’m not traveling or blogging, I’m hanging out with my rescue cats, drinking too much coffee, and creating graphic art.  I’m super excited to be opening an online store featuring my designs this Fall (2017) … I’ve been dreaming this dream for a while and it’s about to come true. ♥

Thanks so much for reading!  Be sure to subscribe so you never miss a post and be sure to follow me on Instagram … cause I post fun stuff there.  Also, feel free to email me at hello@duchessofvegan.com

Warmest,

Duchess of Vegan
